Enriqueta Marti Ripolles (The Vampire of Barcelona) lived in Spain in the late 1800's. She opened a brothel for the more affluent in Barcelona. Some of them had unusual desires which she accommodated for a premium, this included acquiring children.
She would dress as a pauper during the day and go to the poorer parts of the city and kidnap the abandoned children. She claimed drinking the blood of the children would cure disease and help one live longer. She also made creams and elixirs from the bodies and bones which she sold to clients.
