Fort San Cristobal In Navarre Spain may just be the most haunted place in the country. During the 1930's the fort was turned into a prison and almost immediately housed over 2000 prisoners, mostly because they had opposing viewpoints of the government. In 1938 there was a huge prison break and many people died.
Many people report seeing ghosts and hearing the ghostly wails of the tortured prisoners of the past.
