There seems to be a common theme in the vampire folklore of Latin America. This theme is “Don’t cheat on your spouse”!
In Venezuela the creature is called La Sayona. It is said that one day a woman caught her husband cheating and she went home and burned down their home with her husband and their son inside. Then she went to her mother-in-law’s home and killed her with a machete. As her mother in law was bleeding to death she cursed her murderer saying now she will have to avenge all women with cheating husbands… Ooooo….

En Venezuela la criatura se llama La Sayona. Se dice que un día una mujer pilló a su marido engañándola y se fue a casa y quemó su casa con su marido y su hijo dentro. Luego fue a la casa de su suegra y la mató con un machete. Como su suegra se estaba desangrando hasta morir, maldijo a su asesino diciendo que ahora tendría que vengar a todas las mujeres con maridos infieles… Ooooo….
