Gullillermo del Toro is perhaps on of the most famous Spanish film makers. He was born in Mexico and has made many iconic horror films including one of my favorite, "Pan's Labyrinth". His film "Cronos" won numerous awards in 1993 which launched him into the spotlight.
He is known for producing, writing and directing and often times does all three for his movies.
