The Azeman vampire is from Surinam in South America and is mostly described a a woman who can turn into bat. During the day she is a normal looking person, but at night she turns into a blood sucking creature.
I have found an interesting similarity in South American Vampire lore. It is said if you put a broom stick by your door the creature will not enter because it must stop to count the bristles on the broom. You can also throw down a handful of beans or seeds for the same effect.

He encontrado una similitud interesante en la tradición vampÃrica sudamericana. Se dice que si pones un palo de escoba junto a tu puerta la criatura no entrará porque debe detenerse a contar las cerdas de la escoba. También puede arrojar un puñado de frijoles o semillas para obtener el mismo efecto.
